New Jobs
When Skyfall Biologicals sought to establish a U.S.-based manufacturing presence, the company conducted a nationwide search with a focus on Gulf Coast markets. The company ultimately selected Ascension Parish, Louisiana, citing strong state and local support, as well as the region’s skilled petrochemical workforce, robust infrastructure, and strategic location. In 2022, Skyfall announced a $35 million investment to develop a new manufacturing facility near Dutchtown, expected to create 160 new direct jobs and produce key chemical products for domestic and global markets.
Advancing Toward Commercialization
Since the announcement, Skyfall has established operations on its 30-acre site in Ascension Parish, where it is currently focused on process development, testing, and regulatory approvals. The facility is designed to support long-term growth, with plans for future commercial-scale production and additional on-site expansion opportunities. The company’s decision to manufacture domestically reflects a strategic shift to strengthen U.S. supply chains following global disruptions, particularly for products previously produced overseas.
Skyfall continues to advance toward commercialization, working through a multi-year approval process with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Once approvals are secured, the company plans to scale operations significantly, with future phases expected to increase production capacity and grow its workforce.
“We’re making this product internally in the U.S., because this product is currently only manufactured in mainland China, and our owner specifically felt the pain during the business disruption from COVID and the supply chain disruption back in 2020-2021 as it was trying to recover. That’s when he made the commitment that we’re going to build our own facility to make our product in the U.S.”
