YEA of Baton Rouge
Empowering the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs
The Young Entrepreneurs Academy of Baton Rouge (YEA BR) is a transformative, hands-on program of the Greater Baton Rouge Economic Partnership that guides high school students through the process of launching their own real businesses. In partnership with the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business, YEA BR offers students in grades 8–12 from the nine-parish Capital Region an opportunity to:
- Generate business ideas aligned with their interests
- Develop comprehensive business plans
- File their businesses with the Louisiana Secretary of State
- Pitch to a panel of investors for seed funding
- Launch and operate their own companies
Throughout the academic year, students gain invaluable experience, mentorship, and skills that prepare them for future success in entrepreneurship and beyond. Graduates who enroll at LSU within four years may also qualify for LSU credit.
