Cortec Facility, West Baton Rouge In 2013, Cortec announced a $6 million investment to build a manufacturing and distribution facility near Port Allen in West Baton Rouge Parish. The company constructed a 35,000-square-foot facility on a 6-acre site along La. 1, relocating and expanding its Lafayette operations while maintaining its headquarters in Houma.
The project created 30 new direct jobs with an average annual salary of $55,000. The project was supported by the Quality Jobs and Industrial Tax Exemption programs.
Continued Investment and Expanded Capabilities
Since establishing its West Baton Rouge facility, Cortec has continued to invest in its operations, announcing a $2.5 million facility expansion in 2018 that added four new jobs, a new space, and equipment to launch specialized coating capabilities. These enhancements extend the performance and longevity of oil and gas equipment, strengthening the company’s position in global energy markets.
Cortec’s continued growth has contributed to the expansion of Louisiana’s manufacturing base and reinforced the Capital Region’s role in supporting the oil and gas industry, while also growing its workforce in the region. In recognition of its excellence in manufacturing and community impact, Cortec received the 2018 Lantern Award from Louisiana Economic Development, highlighting its leadership and innovation in the state’s industrial sector.
