PreSonus designs and manufactures professional audio equipment and software used in music production, live sound, broadcast, and more. The company’s product line includes digital mixers, audio interfaces, preamps, control surfaces, and its popular Studio One® recording software. The company was founded by musician, producer, and LSU electrical engineering graduate Jim Odom, who was driven by a mission to create affordable, professional-grade tools for artists and engineers.
When PreSonus pursued an expansion with a new headquarters and manufacturing facility, the company looked at the Baton Rouge area for its deep cultural connection to music, proximity to university talent, and the state’s competitive incentive programs. PreSonus selected East Baton Rouge Parish for its $8 million corporate headquarters in Baton Rouge, LA. This new 44,000-square-foot facility created 65 new direct jobs and significantly boosted the company’s production capacity, research and development, and product innovation. The expansion was supported by LED FastStart—the nation’s #1 state workforce training program—and leveraged Louisiana’s Quality Jobs, Industrial Tax Exemption, and Digital Interactive Media and Software Development incentives.
In recognition of its excellence in manufacturing and community involvement, PreSonus received the 2014 Lantern Award from Louisiana Economic Development, highlighting its commitment to economic growth and sustainability in the Capital Region.
