Leadership Baton Rouge, founded in 1985, prepares a diverse group of professionals to take on leadership roles throughout the Capital Region. The program develops informed, engaged leaders by exposing participants to the key issues shaping the region, including education, diversity and inclusion, local and state government, healthcare, economic development, arts and culture, and the criminal justice system.
The program spans ten months, beginning with an opening retreat in January and continuing with full-day monthly sessions from February through October that combine discussion, learning, and hands-on engagement. The experience concludes with a closing retreat and graduation in November. Leadership Baton Rouge is led by Anita Byrne, MBA.
