BATON ROUGE, LA – The Greater Baton Rouge Economic Partnership (The Partnership) has earned two 2026 Excellence in Economic Development Awards from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC), recognizing the organization’s work to strengthen its regional brand and tell the story of economic growth across Louisiana’s Capital Region.
The Partnership received a Silver Award in the Special Event category for BRAC Impact presented by Kean Miller, the organization’s 2025 Annual Meeting, and a Bronze Award in the General Purpose Website category for greaterbatonrouge.org. Both awards were presented in the population greater than 500,000 division.
BRAC Impact marked two decades of regional economic development accomplishments under the Baton Rouge Area Chamber name before the organization reintroduced itself as The Partnership in October 2025. The event brought together business and community leaders to celebrate the projects, partnerships, and progress that shaped the Capital Region over the organization’s last two decades while setting the stage for its next chapter.
The Partnership’s website, greaterbatonrouge.org, was developed as part of the organization’s new brand and serves as a key resource for investors, site selectors, and regional partners to explore. The website brings together information on the Capital Region’s business environment, target sectors, certified sites, workforce, quality of life, and more. The Partnership worked with Red Six Media to develop the website.
“These awards recognize two projects that tell an important story about where our organization and region have been and where we are headed,” said Klein Kirby, Board Chair of The Partnership. “BRAC Impact gave us an opportunity to celebrate 20 years of economic development wins made possible by partners across the Capital Region, while our website gives us a stronger platform to carry that story forward. Both reflect our continued work to position the Capital Region to compete for investment, jobs, and talent.”
Each year, IEDC’s Excellence in Economic Development Awards recognize economic development organizations, government entities, initiatives, and programs that demonstrate excellence in the field. The 2026 awards coincide with IEDC’s 100th anniversary and recognize projects and programs helping advance the practice of economic development.
The Partnership will be recognized alongside award recipients from across the country and around the world during the IEDC 2026 Annual Conference, held October 25-28 in New Orleans.
