BATON ROUGE, LA – The Greater Baton Rouge Economic Partnership today announced that Paige Carter has been selected as its President and CEO following a national search. Paige will assume the role in January 2027.
Paige currently serves as Chief Business Development Officer at Louisiana Economic Development (LED), where she leads the state’s business development operations, encompassing business attraction, expansion and retention, international commerce, and lead development. Since rejoining LED in June 2024, Paige has spearheaded a strategic transformation of the department’s business development operations, helping advance more than $260 billion in historic investment announcements and positioning Louisiana as a national leader in emerging industries, including digital technology and aerospace. Under her leadership, the department expanded global industry partnerships, accelerated transformational investment opportunities, and established a more intentional, integrated approach to business development to strengthen Louisiana’s competitiveness and elevate its position on the global economic stage.
“Paige brings an exceptional combination of economic development experience, relationship building, and a deep understanding of how to bring business, education, and government together around shared opportunities,” said Klein Kirby, chair of The Partnership’s board of directors and its search committee. “Beyond her professional accomplishments, Paige has a genuine passion for this region. Greater Baton Rouge is her home, where she and her husband are raising their family, and she has a personal stake in its future. That commitment, coupled with her experience and relationships, will be invaluable as we work to strengthen our region and compete for the jobs and investment that will shape its future.”
“I am incredibly honored for the opportunity to lead the Greater Baton Rouge Economic Partnership at such an important moment for our region and our state,” Carter said. “Louisiana has secured over $260 billion in announced investment since 2024, and now our focus must be on turning that historic success into lasting growth. The Capital Region has the assets, employers, talent and communities to help bring these projects to fruition, and I look forward to working alongside our partners to build on those strengths, support the businesses already here, and create a stronger economic future for the people who call this region home.”
Before her role as Chief Business Development Officer at LED, Paige served as Executive Director of Industry Engagement at the LSU Foundation, where she established the Office of Industry Engagement and was instrumental in securing the largest philanthropic donation in LSU’s history and the largest corporate investment supporting energy-related initiatives. Earlier, as Director of Business Development at LED, her work contributed to the creation of more than 11,000 jobs and substantial capital investment throughout Louisiana.
Paige’s professional accomplishments have earned recognition through the two-time Business Facilities Platinum Deal of the Year Award, the Baton Rouge Business Report’s 2021 Forty Under 40 and 2025 Influential Women in Business honors.
Paige is deeply committed to the Capital Region and communities throughout the nine-parish area. She previously served on the Board of Directors for the Junior League of Baton Rouge and currently serves on the board of the Louisiana Cancer Research Center, along with several statewide boards and commissions. She is especially excited about the opportunity to leverage her experience and relationships where she and her husband are raising their family, serving a region she cares deeply about and helping shape its economic future.
She holds a Master of Business Administration from Louisiana State University Shreveport and graduated cum laude from Arizona State University’s New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences with a bachelor’s degree in political science and a minor in communication. She lives in Baton Rouge with her husband and two children.
