New direct jobs announced in Integer’s 2026 Baton Rouge expansion
In 2023, Integer Technologies announced the intent to open a permanent office on Louisiana State University’s flagship campus in Baton Rouge to work directly with faculty and students on advanced defense research. The move coincided with a $9.8 million research award from the U.S. Navy’s Office of Naval Research to develop new maritime technologies that improve the intelligence, autonomy, and decision-making capabilities of distributed networks of autonomous vessels. Integer selected East Baton Rouge Parish for its expansion because of LSU’s world-class research capabilities and access to a highly skilled talent pipeline of engineers and scientists. Proximity to the Gulf Coast and its established maritime and energy infrastructure provides a natural testbed for applied research and field demonstrations.
The company’s Baton Rouge office, located in the LSU Emerging Technology Center, includes 4,000 square feet of office and lab space with secure facilities to support U.S. government projects. Integer’s Baton Rouge team has grown to eight full-time employees, with plans to expand to 15 or more by 2028, alongside nearly 20 LSU professors, researchers, and students contributing to active defense research programs.
Expanding Louisiana's Defense Technology Ecosystem
Integer expanded its office and research footprint within LSU’s Digital Media Center to support advanced software development, artificial intelligence applications, and autonomous maritime systems research for U.S. defense customers. The company works closely with LSU faculty and students across engineering, computer science, coastal sciences, and related disciplines, creating hands-on research opportunities, internships, and workforce development pathways tied directly to national security initiatives. The partnership has become a model for industry-university collaboration, bringing together government, academia, and private-sector innovation to accelerate technology commercialization while creating high-wage career opportunities for Louisiana graduates. Integer has sponsored LSU senior capstone projects, participated in maritime technology demonstrations with Louisiana partners, and helped establish a growing talent pipeline into software engineering, AI, and defense technology careers.
In recognition of its growth and collaboration, Integer received the Louisiana Technology Emerging Leader Award and was named to the 2025 Silicon Bayou List at LSU’s Silicon Bayou Gala, honoring organizations advancing Louisiana’s technology sector.
In 2026, Integer announced a significant expansion of its Baton Rouge operations, creating 23 new direct jobs with an average annual salary of $130,000 and retaining nine existing positions. The expansion builds on the company’s successful partnership with LSU and growing portfolio of federal defense research projects.
