Vice President/Director of Technology

The VP/Director of Technology at the Greater Baton Rouge Economic Partnership provides strategic leadership in driving employment and investment growth in key technology sectors, including cybersecurity, software development, manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare and life sciences. This role is responsible for fostering a robust technology ecosystem by leveraging Louisiana’s strategic advantages in policy, infrastructure, and economic assets to attract and retain high-value technology companies.
Key Responsibilities
Business Recruitment & Industry Growth (60%)
- Lead the development and execution of strategies to attract and expand technology-based businesses in the region.
- Identify and engage high-potential companies through industry networks, data-driven analysis, and targeted outreach.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of technology investment prospects, guiding them from initial contact to successful project completion.
- Establish and track clear, measurable performance metrics using CRM-based data visualization to demonstrate progress.
- Serve as the primary industry expert, collaborating across the Greater Baton Rouge Economic Partnership’s teams and economic development partners to support project success.
Technology Ecosystem Development (30%)
Cultivate strong relationships with economic development stakeholders and industry leaders to advance technology sector growth.
Represent the Greater Baton Rouge Economic Partnership in local, state, and national organizations that drive technology investment and innovation.
Lead or support relevant committees, councils, and industry roundtables to convene and engage technology companies.
Operational & Administrative Leadership (10%)
Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records to track project pipelines and business development activities.
Ensure financial and compliance responsibilities, including expense management, invoicing, and grant reporting, are met in collaboration with internal teams.
Participate in the Greater Baton Rouge Economic Partnership’s staff meetings and contribute to the organization’s culture, teamwork, and strategic objectives.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of 7+ years of experience in the technology sector or a closely related field with a strong professional network.
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
Proven ability to manage relationships across diverse stakeholders, including executives, government officials, and industry leaders.
Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to simplify complex issues into actionable strategies.
Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities.
